Art at Penbank

It has been a fantastic start to the term in the art room, with students deeply engaged in their creative projects across various year levels.

  •  Foundation: Students have created artworks inspired by Australian artist David Larwill, exploring vibrant colours and expressive techniques.
  • Years 1 and 2: The children have been learning about Margaret Preston and have produced beautiful prints inspired by her distinctive style.
  • Years 3 and 4: After watching a video about ceramic artist Simone Fraser, students crafted vessel drawings and moved on to create ceramic pieces as part of their exploration of the connection between nature and form.
  • Year 5: Students were introduced to the works of Mirka Mora and responded by creating stunning art pieces using charcoal and dry pastels.
  • Year 6: They have been busy designing skateboards as part of their graduation projects, showcasing a wonderful combination of creativity and design skills.

It has been wonderful to witness their artistic growth and excitement in learning.

Warm regards,
